Ocean Drive Studio released a major November update (v1.1.8) for Avatar: Veil of the Witch. After the game version 1.0 was launched, it added difficulty options, major combat balance adjustments, and many improvements that players have long requested based on community feedback.This update replaces the original "God Mode" with two selectable difficulty settings - "Wrath of the Witch" and "Whisper of the Witch" - allowing players to fine-tune their tactical experience.The patch also optimizes enemy encounters, adjusts key combat conditions, and re-releases Aster’s free special skin set for a limited time.

In addition to combat optimization, this update also includes comprehensive improvements to relics, traps, achievement systems, and visual clarity.At the system level, repeated card refreshes have been prevented, tutorial guidelines have been added, and the recognition of status effects has been improved.In addition, several program errors and achievement system anomalies that hindered progress have been fixed, providing a smoother and easier-to-use tactical experience for returning players and new players.

Changes and Improvements
New Expedition Difficulty Options
New difficulty options: “Witch’s Wrath” and “Witch’s Whisper”.

Combat difficulty adjustment
The number of Vermilith appearing in Vermilith battles has been reduced and replaced by other monster enemies.
The failure condition of the villager rescue map has been changed from "3 or more villagers die" to "all team members die".
Now you will receive additional rewards for successfully rescuing 3 villagers.
In Bernhardt's second battle, the damage reduction of his defensive stance was reduced from 90% to 50%.
In Bernhardt's third battle, Bernhardt's HP recovery effect when receiving a critical hit will now only be triggered when connected to "Umbral Chains".
Free Special Skin Pack DLC – Re-Available for a Limited Time

Relic improvements
Cracked Wind-Up Soldier
When any of our characters dies, 15 points of damage will be caused to all enemies.Triggered up to 3 times per battle.
Scholar's Candelabrum
When talking to teammates in the camp, the character's physical/magical attack and physical/magic defense +3.Can be used 2 times.
Luminescent Box
At the beginning of our turn, teammates with less than half health will recover 15 health points.
Bloody Effigy
For each abnormal status, we gain +3 physical and magical attack, but the maximum health value is -2.
Tattered Banner
Teammates below 60% health gain +10 physical and magical attack.
Notched Hilt
When obtained, the maximum health of all team members is -10.After each battle is won, the maximum health value is +5 (maximum +20).
Trap skill adjustments
The number of gold coins obtained from "Pillaging Trap" has been increased.
The damage caused by "Bomb Snare" has been increased.
Name and text updates
The "Phantom Grudge" area generated by the "Dark Phantom" skill is now clearly marked and lasts for 5 rounds.
Bernhardt renamed some effects:
“Melee defensive stance” → “Riposte”
“Long Range Defense Stance” → “Repel”
System and visual improvements
When redrawing skill/attribute cards, the last card option will not appear again.
Added tutorial instructions for the skills of some enemies and elite enemies.
Added new status effect visual effects.
Bernhardt's "Riposte" and "Repel" have new special effects.
Silvio's passive skills "Shadow Armor" and "Shadow Shield" have new visual effects.
You can now start looking for clues to recruit new characters after the prologue.

Achievement adjustments
The collaboration stage requirements for the achievements "Bury the Hatchet", "Unspoken Feelings", "A Better World" and "Forgiveness Starts Within" have been reduced from 4 to 3.The number of event completion times for the achievement "Once Upon a Time" has been reduced from 3 to 1.
Completed achievements that were not previously recorded correctly will be automatically unlocked on game launch.
Achievements earned in the trial version will be automatically unlocked when launching the official version.
bug fixes
Fixed an issue where Vermilith would still use "Devour" while in the "Immobilized" state.
Fixed an error where Fellheart only used "Shadow Cyclone" once in the third Fellheart battle.
Fixed a bug where Elena could act multiple times under certain conditions in the "Lone Wolf" state.
Fixed an issue where counterattack damage was not shown in the preview while in Concealed state.
Fixed an issue where "Lantern of the Dead" would trigger incorrectly when a summon caused an enemy to retreat.
Fixed the issue where when the "Raven Contract" and "Pumpkin Seed Bundle" relics are owned at the same time, when the "Pumpkin Seed Bundle" expires due to a crisis event, the player cannot interact with the Raven and cannot continue the expedition.
Fixed an issue where Behemoth would use "Crashing Ram" on "Stealth" units.
