Naughty Dog, Sony's ace game development studio, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary milestone and released a sentimental retrospective short film.This video brings together interviews with key members, including studio co-president Neil Drakman, studio manager Alison Murray and co-artistic director Eric Pansilinan, to trace the legendary studio’s forty-year development trajectory and classic works.

Naughty Dog's history can be traced back to 1984, originally starting out as "JAM Software" and developing early games such as "Math Jam" and "Ski Crazed" for the Apple II computer.In 1989, the studio officially changed its name to "Naughty Dog".What really made it famous was the "Crash Bandicoot" series launched on the original PlayStation in 1996. With its superb technology and interesting gameplay, this work has almost become the unofficial mascot of the PS console.

After being acquired by Sony in 2001, Naughty Dog entered a new stage of development.The short film focuses on four of its iconic franchises: "Crash Bandicoot," "Jak & Daxter," "Uncharted" and "The Last of Us."The studio has demonstrated its ability to continuously reinvent itself across different game generations, especially in the Uncharted series, which successfully blended action-adventure and cinematic storytelling. The Last of Us set a new benchmark for emotional depth and narrative standards in games, and its influence has extended to other media, such as the recent successful HBO series adaptation.

At the end of the short film, Naughty Dog revealed a little bit about its next ambitious project - "Star: Prophets of Heresy".It's described internally by the studio as its "most ambitious, largest and most expensive" production to date.In addition, officials also confirmed that there are other projects in development, which undoubtedly triggered widespread speculation about works such as "The Last of Us Part III".
