"Silent Hill F" received great acclaim after its release, and sales were also very high.Recently, the development team released behind-the-scenes footage of the game, revealing the game's unique "ordinary person" combat system design concept.Let’s take a look!
Behind the Scenes:
Capra Shih, deputy director of design, revealed that the combat mechanism of "Silent Hill F" is specially tailored for ordinary high school girl Hinako Fukasumi. The counterattacks, dodges and other techniques used are based on actions that ordinary people can complete in the real world, making the horror experience more immersive and realistic.

The development team carefully designed a new triple combat mechanism while retaining the protagonist as an ordinary person.Different from the simple combination of melee combat and firearms in previous works, this innovation introduces the "Concentrate Counterattack" system, allowing players to capture the enemy's opening moment; "Strong Strike" can actively break the deadlock in combat; and "Adrenaline Dodge" provides a short-term invincibility at the critical moment. These designs not only enhance the game's playability, but also ensure the realistic rationality of each action.

Actor Kato Konatsu also shared the unique experience of playing an ordinary female high school student. She said that this "sense of ordinaryness" made the horror atmosphere more real and believable. The team emphasized that by setting the protagonist as an ordinary person with no special abilities, they successfully created a sense of fear and helplessness that is closer to the player, making every encounter full of tension and uncertainty.
