Timur222, who specializes in studying game developer resumes on LinkedIn, found that the profile of a former executive producer at Free Range Games (now laid off) showed that the "particularly well-received" game "Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria" developed by Free Range Games will receive a sequel.
She wrote in her profile:
"As Free RangeAs Executive Producer and Studio Head at Games, I lead large-scale creative and technical projects, driving global teams to develop AAA games.My work includes overseeing post-production for the Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria series (and its sequels), as well as a new yet-to-be-announced IP project with a $100 million budget and a 130-person team."
It looks like the Sausalito, California-based indie developer Free Range Games is working on two big projects: a sequel to 2023 survival-building game The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, which has apparently been successful enough to merit another installment; and an even larger, unannounced project with a nine-figure budget.
Meanwhile, Free Range Games is about to launch the Durin's Folk DLC on November 19, which will bring about 20 hours of new content to "The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria", not to mention new features such as the ability to recruit NPCs with specific skills.
This DLC will add a new area called "Durin's Tower", a trading camp near the gates of Moria, and a recruiting camp in Dimer Valley.New gameplay elements include recruiting dwarves with specific skills.Players will also manage mines (mining bases) with buildings.
The Gates of Demriel have opened, but what happens next, dwarves? As King of Moria, it is your responsibility to restore Khazad-dûm to its former glory and repopulate it.This means one thing - Durin's people will return to Moria!
