"Death Stranding: Director's Cut" recently released a new version 1.005 update, officially introducing energy-saving mode support. This update continues Sony’s trend of upgrading its first-party game lineup—many titles such as “Demon’s Souls” and “Days Gone” have also recently received similar updates.Although the update notes do not mention gameplay changes or technical adjustments, the new energy-saving mode is believed to be in preparation for Sony's upcoming PlayStation handheld device. The device is said to support optimizing the low-power gaming experience by reducing performance and image quality.

This update achieves energy consumption optimization through energy-saving compatibility, but players do not need to expect visible changes to the game screen or operation methods. This reflects Sony’s future compatibility strategy to build a diversified hardware ecosystem and ensure that early first-party works can continue to adapt to different devices and configurations.
