On the Steam homepage, there are already sections for "recommended games based on play history" and for recommending games similar to recently played games.In addition, some users will also create wishlists to follow the latest updates on upcoming games.The personal calendar function displays these "upcoming games that users may be interested in" in a list.

The personal calendar will display games added to the wishlist by players with similar gaming time tendencies to the user.Since this recommendation mechanism refers to the game play time, just trying the demo version for a few minutes, or playing a new game for a while, will not be counted in the display.In other words, the system will prioritize games that players with the same play style have invested a lot of time playing as recommendations.

In addition, the feature also features a daily updated recommended games section.Whenever the release date of a new game is confirmed or the calendar is updated, the new games will be displayed in this section one after another.Moreover, the personal calendar will not only include recommendations based on play time, but also games that have been added to the wishlist will also be displayed.Users can also filter based on game type or the total number of games they want to view. You may wish to change the filtering conditions based on your interests.

This feature also provides a section for curating games released in the last month or within the past seven days, making it easier for users to learn about released games that they may have missed.According to Valve, because there are very few games released on weekends, for layout reasons, the calendar currently only shows weekdays.
