Recently, the re-release plan of the 2006 classic game "Scarface: World Mastery" based on the 1983 movie "Scarface" on Steam and the Epic Game Store encountered a series of accidents, resulting in a chaotic release process and eventually being temporarily removed from the shelves.

Publisher EC Digital Entertainment originally planned to bring the game back to the PC platform. However, the game was unexpectedly put on the Epic Games Store early this Wednesday, and was quickly removed from the shelves. The publisher explained that this was due to a "technical issue" that caused the game's "unplanned early release."
Additionally, the publisher notes on its Steam page that this re-release "uses AI-assisted technology to improve certain visual elements while retaining the core experience," and that using AI enhancements is completely optional.

Faced with this series of problems, EC Digital Entertainment issued an apology statement on the Steam forum, admitting that the release was "entirely our responsibility."The statement mentioned that due to "complicated situations and concerns caused by the unexpected release", after emergency discussions, they believed that "temporarily hiding the store page is the most appropriate step" and have begun coordinating with the platform on the removal. The publisher apologized for the confusion and concern it caused to the community and stated that if the situation changes in the future and the project can be restarted, players will be notified in a timely manner.

Scarface: World Mastery was originally released for PlayStation 2, Windows PC and Xbox in 2006, with a Wii version in 2007.This is an open-world action-adventure game similar to "Grand Theft Auto", produced by Radiation Entertainment, which has developed "The Simpsons: Rampage" and "Prototype" series.
It is reported that a sequel to the game set in Las Vegas was once in development, but was eventually cancelled.
