Once you get past the weak first act, The Outer Worlds 2 perfects Obsidian's RPG formula with smarter writing and better combat.

General comments
The Outer Worlds 2 doesn't attempt to rewrite Obsidian's RPG gameplay, but it is another strong improvement, with smoother combat, engaging building and loot systems, and a storyline that immediately made me want to start over and see other endings.A draggy first act and a lack of enemy variety can make it boring at times, but once the political intrigue unfolds and the new flaw and skill systems keep you hooked, it's hard to put it down. All of these improvements bring The Outer Worlds 2 closer to the successor to the Fallout: New Vegas series we've come to expect, and it's certainly worth looking forward to.
