MP1ST recently revealed many details about the canceled "God of War" live service game.Judging from the exposed game pictures, the "God of War" series is likely to return to the Greek background. The screenshots show temples and artifacts that are obviously inspired by Greek culture. Some of the images show interiors of temples, caves containing giant sulfur pools, and other scenes that appear to be extremely large spaces, likely designed to support a multiplayer experience.

Despite the project being canceled, multiple God of War games are reportedly still in development.Recent rumors claim that a 2.5D Metroidvania-style "God of War" spin-off may be released in 2026, and the protagonist will be Kratos' brother Deimos.
However, what most players are looking forward to more may be the new developments in the orthodox sequel of the series.Recent rumors indicate that the next generation of legitimate "God of War" games may be set in Egypt.Players have long expected the series to venture into Egypt, and Santa Monica Studio did indeed plan to set God of War in the Mediterranean country in the past, lending some credibility to the rumors.According to one of the rumors, Kratos will wield a curved weapon in the game that resembles a scimitar or an Egyptian scythe.Currently, none of this information has been officially confirmed, and players should treat it with caution.
