EA is forcing employees to use AI in almost every job, but the results are often flawed and make developers' workload even greater.

According to Business Insider, multiple current EA employees confirmed that company leadership has been pushing its approximately 15,000 employees over the past year or so to use AI in nearly every task—from generating code and concept art for games to advising managers on how to talk to employees about certain topics, including pay or promotions.
Among them, the problem of AI tools used to generate code is the most prominent. It is said that these tools often produce defective code that requires manual repair.Other developers worry that companies requiring them to use their own work to train AI models could undermine demand for concept artists and level designers.
The widespread use of AI also threatens quality assurance (QA) jobs.A former Respawn employee said they were laid off in the spring, when about 100 employees were laid off.The reason is that the company started using AI to review and summarize tester feedback, a job that was originally the responsibility of human employees.
Although the heavy use of AI in game development and related positions does pose a threat to employment, not all developers are opposed to the use of AI.
Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of the Super Smash Bros. series, believes that the application of generative AI can improve efficiency and make the development of large-scale projects more sustainable today, especially in an environment like Japan where talent is increasingly scarce.
Hideo Kojima, the creator of the "Metal Gear Solid" and "Death Stranding" series, also has a positive attitude towards generative AI. He believes that AI can help improve efficiency and allow him to focus more on the creative part of his work.
