The Game Awards (TGA), a major gaming industry event, recently announced the appointment of Apple as a new member of its advisory board.

Through an official website update on Tuesday, Apple officially became the 14th member of the committee, joining Activision, AMD, EA, Epic Games, Kojima Productions, Microsoft, Nintendo, Riot, Rockstar, SIE, Tencent, Ubisoft and Valve.
According to the TGA’s official website, the advisory committee aims to “help guide and advance TGA’s core mission.”
It should be noted that the committee does not participate in the nomination of awards or the selection of winners, and it knows the voting results at the same time as the public. The TGA nomination list is determined by voting by a global media jury.

Obviously, Apple has further strengthened its layout in the gaming field this year: it not only launched the exclusive game application Apple Games on the iOS platform, integrating game libraries, social updates and Apple Arcade subscription services, but also completed the first acquisition of game developers in the company's history this summer. However, it claimed that this move does not mean a strategic shift of the company.

The 2025 TGA Awards will be held as scheduled at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California on December 11 (Thursday).According to event producer and host Geoff Keighley, last year's ceremony set a new record with 154 million live views, and the ratings in 2024 increased by 31% compared with the previous year.
