Trapped beast echoes

Let’s start with Echoes of a Trapped Beast, which is already in progress.We announced this global community challenge to unite players over 11 weeks to complete clear weekly goals and earn exclusive rewards.The first challenge has ended, the second has begun, and the momentum you generated is exactly what we designed it to do: contribute during the week, and the rewards will go directly into your in-game stash.

There are 22 goals throughout the event, and if the community completes at least 17 of them, a mysterious legendary reward will be unlocked.If everyone completes 20 goals together, all players who participated at least once will receive all weekly rewards.To see weekly goals, community progress, and your eligibility for cache rewards, head to the dedicated page on Extinction Outpost.With everyone working together, every Thursday will be another opportunity to prove the strength of The Herd.This week we ask you to kill zombies with a flying kick, and the reward will be an 80s-style "Sunset SUV" vehicle skin and matching machete weapon.

New Game+ and Legendary Levels

But Echoes of the Trapped Beast isn’t all we have in store for you – it’s time to look in more detail at the systems that will extend replay value and deepen endgame content.The "New Game+" (NG+) you are familiar with will return, but it will be tailored for "Dying Light: The Beast".You can replay the entire game while retaining the XP experience, skills, and items from the first pass. Of course, you can also perform NG+ runs multiple times in a row to maximize the skill tree.But be warned - each cycle buffs the enemy and adds pressure in a way more suited to our melee-first, physics-driven approach.To make this cycle even more meaningful, Legendary levels will be released simultaneously with NG+.You can expect even more legendary abilities than in our previous game, including exclusive abilities designed to significantly increase your Wild Power.

As you level up, you'll also gain access to more powerful weapons, allowing you to better master the game's challenges.At the same time, we’re also introducing a new weapon rarity with an exclusive appearance that you’ll start to see appear as your Legend level increases.The goal is simple: make late-game gear feel earned and valuable.

Nightmare difficulty

Now let’s talk about nightmare difficulty.It will be coming after the Legendary/NG+ update, and our goal is to make this difficulty more than just "higher numbers."Yes enemies will do more damage and be more demanding to play, but that's not the point in itself.We want to try a more realistic survival loop - so expect some new mechanics in that regard.In the meantime, we're currently taking a look at each boss to see how to adjust their behavior to make them less predictable.On top of that, we're also looking at some neat tweaks to our Night Stalker - these are just preliminary plans, so I don't want to promise too much, but we're taking inspiration from games like Alien: Isolation and Resident Evil 3.

Ray tracing

Technical and visual upgrades will also be part of this 11-week advancement plan.During this roadmap window, we will introduce ray tracing support to the PC version of Dying Light: The Beast, and we will continue to roll out improvements to improve the real-time experience of the game without affecting performance.The priorities for all of these focuses are consistent: deepen replayability, enhance the identity of the endgame experience, and make every return to Beaver Valley purposeful.

PUBG MOBILE linkage

But that's not all - Dying Light: The Beast's first crossover is coming, starting next week, October 31st!Two iconic survival franchises collide: the horror of Dying Light: Trapped meets the high-stakes action of PUBG MOBILE.You can look forward to a new questline that will follow the main storyline's "Power Sec", with tie-in rewards including PUBG MOBILE-themed items: Cauldron of Murderous Intent, Brawl Bat, a much-maligned outfit, and gear items for extra XP and damage.and PUBG keychains that enhance beheading, dismemberment, or body destruction.

You can also look forward to new weapon executions next week to expand your existing finishing options - but that's just a small bonus on your bloody journey!
