Recently, "Bayonetta" producer Hideki Kamiya interacted with netizens on Twitter and talked about why the protagonist Bayonetta (Sister Bay) never takes off her glasses.

Hideki Kamiya revealed that when he was designing "Bayonetta", a client did ask "can I take off Sister Bei's glasses?", but he always refused. He added: "Shimomura-san, who directed cutscenes, also said this: 'Her glasses are like underwear, so they must not be taken off.'"

Later, another player asked: "I remember Mr. Kamiya mentioned that Sister Bei experienced a painful childhood, so she wore her glasses as a mask. Due to the traumatic events she suffered, she was unwilling to show her face easily. I remember this content seemed to be written in the "Future Press" strategy book."

Kamiya responded: "Perhaps it is because of trauma, or it may be other reasons... I originally wanted to dig deeper into the meaning of the glasses and depict related storylines... In any case, among all the "Bayonetta" works I created, the only male who has seen her true face in her life is Luca."
