Since the release of "Battlefield 6", the balance between vehicles has been the focus of the community.Recently, some players discovered a bug that seriously affects the balance of the game - Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV).It is capable of shooting down airborne vehicles without any warning of lock-on, leaving the pilot virtually powerless to fight back.

IFV: Flexible "Light Tank"
In "Battlefield 6", the IFV is positioned as a light combat vehicle with both mobility and manned capabilities. It can not only support infantry operations, but also attack light targets on the ground.
Official vehicle information shows:
Crew capacity: 6 people (1 driver, 1 gunner, 4 passengers)
Main targets: light ground vehicles and infantry
Driver armament: main gun, missile launcher, two equipment slots and one upgrade slot
Gunner armament: main weapon, target designator and smoke wall launcher (not replaceable)
Theoretically, IFV has limited anti-aircraft capabilities and relies more on dedicated air defense vehicles to undertake air interception tasks. However, recent player discoveries have completely disrupted this balance.
Reddit player: The missile can lock on the aircraft but there is no warning sound
A popular post on Reddit "[BF6] IFV Lock-On Bug / Exploit – No Warning or Flare Counterplay for Aircraft" pointed out that when the IFV gunner uses a target designator (Target Designator) in combination with a laser-guided missile (Laser-Guided Missile), he can lock the aircraft and launch the missile, but the pilot will not receive any locking sound or warning.
This means that the aircraft cannot deploy flares as a countermeasure.Once locked, the attack is almost guaranteed to hit.
Some players speculate that the problem may stem from an error in the missile system's "soft lock" logic, allowing it to bypass the countermeasures of the aviation vehicle. This is similar to the problem of earlier Javelin missiles experiencing delayed or missing warnings against ground targets.

There are similar findings on Twitter: IFV is stronger than an anti-aircraft vehicle?
On Twitter, well-known player @GhostGamingG also posted:
"I think the IFV's laser-guided missile in "Battlefield 6" should really be taken seriously. Now you can lock and launch it independently, with almost unlimited range, and cannot be interfered by thermal bombs. This is better than a dedicated anti-aircraft vehicle. In the past version, ECM could restrain it, but now "Battlefield 6" has no ECM mechanism at all."

Many players believe that this loophole turns IFV into an out-and-out "AA Monster", completely overturning the balance of air-ground combat.
As of now, EA and DICE have not issued a formal response to this vulnerability, but the community generally believes that this problem has seriously affected the balance of the game.If the official can fix this vulnerability in the upcoming update, it will be a key step to restore fairness in air-ground combat.
