The "Saints Row" series declined sharply after the third generation, and the reboot only made matters worse, taking the series in the wrong direction. Many fans have long been clamoring for a return to the original Saints Row experience.

"Saints Row 1" design director Chris Stockman also has the same view as fans, saying that the reboot is a bad idea. Now he is calling on the IP holder - Embracer Group - to contact him and give him the chance to launch a new game to save the entire series.
In an interview with Esports Insider, Chris Stockman said that if he were to lead a reboot, he would bring the setting back to the 1970s and create a prequel to tell the origin story of the original gang. This is also an idea he hopes to realize in the next Saints Row game.
"Embracer Group, if you're listening, please contact me. Let's get started. I can bring together the old team that worked on Saints Row 1. I just need a decent budget to resurrect this IP."
He also mentioned that he hopes to build the game into a stylized VR open world work, based on this prequel setting.Chris believes that with the technology of Quest 4, this game can almost achieve the visual effects of the first generation in VR, and at the same time, it can revive the entire series and return it to its original intention.
"They don't even have to fund it themselves. I can find outside funding. I can bring this franchise back to life. I know I can do it."
Chris hopes that through the VR route, the new game will not compete head-on with "GTA" again, and instead, "Saints Row" will become "GTA in the VR open world."
