Aki Yamaoka is synonymous with the unique sound effects of the "Silent Hill" series. He has created the soundtrack for the first six major works of the series, the rebooted version of "Silent Hill: Broken Memories", last year's "Silent Hill 2" remake, and the "Silent Hill" film.

Fans of Silent Hill may be surprised because Yamaoka’s dream project is Resident Evil, the biggest survival horror rival of Silent Hill.

In a promotional interview with the upcoming survival city building game DarkSwitch, Yamaoka was asked a series of questions about his career.Yamaoka created the soundtrack for this game. One of the questions is simple: "Is there a series you dream of participating in?" Yamaoka replied that Capcom's Resident Evil series, a long-time competitor to Silent Hill, was his first choice.

"Well, I really want to work with the Resident Evil series. This is a horror game I used to play so it would be great if I had the chance."

Elsewhere in the interview, Yamaoka Aki was asked whether he felt that the games between the West and the East were becoming more and more similar or different.Given that Silent Hill 2: Remake was developed by Polish studio Bloober Team, this question is particularly apt.

He replied: "I don't think they're similar, but there's not much difference between them either. But if you look at them from an artistic perspective and combine the cultural background of each country, like Japan, the United States, and of course Europe, you'll find that there's a lot of difference between them. However, I don't think the core of these games is much different."
