Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford announced on social media that the latest work of the Borderlands series will be available on Nintendo's latest generation console Switch 2 platform on October 3, 2025.

“I know many of you are excited about it because the Nintendo Switch 2 is a particularly great platform,” he said.He continued: "I know you're worried, because we haven't announced the release date and have not started pre-orders yet. Many people think the game won't be released soon."

After teasing the game's situation in a slightly low tone, Pitchford immediately announced the news that the game will be released on October 3.“Not next year, not even the end of the year holiday,” he stressed, “it’s far before Christmas and even before Thanksgiving. It’s October 3rd, everyone!”
