Sega announced its financial report for the fiscal year ended March 2025, with profits soaring sharply compared with previous years.The company achieved triple-digit growth in operating and current profits, while net profit reached 32.3 billion yen (over $224 million).This achieved a huge turnaround from a net loss of 6.65 billion yen in the previous fiscal year (due to cancellation of game projects and restructuring of European operations).

According to Sega, the strong performance this fiscal year is mainly due to the high profit sales of full-price games released in previous years, as well as the sales of new works "Royal 8: Pirates of Hawaii" and "Sonic × Shatter Generation Restart".The strong performance of game software sales and Sonic-related licensing revenue is enough to cover the losses caused by the cancellation of Football Manager 25.

It is worth mentioning that Sega's Rulong RGG Studio said that the first wave of sales of "Rulong 8 Legend: Pirates of Hawaii" is much higher than that of Japan in the overseas market, which is the first time in this series.

Sega's financial results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025 are as follows:

Revenue: 124.08 billion yen (down 33.5% year-on-year)

Operating profit: 11.11 billion yen (a year-on-year increase of 373.7%)

Current profit: 35.27 billion yen (year-on-year increase of 374.3%)

Net profit: 32.31 billion yen (net loss of 6.65 billion yen in the previous fiscal year)
