Recently, a former R Star employee revealed that the development cycle of "GTA6" is so long, mainly because three plots have been overturned and started over again, making the project scale increasingly large, and the production process of repeated restarts is also quite lengthy, resulting in the departure of R Star co-founder Dan Houser.
It was revealed that the original plot arrangement of "GTA6" was "a detective story, a thriller, revolving around the three protagonists." This plan caused a huge response and was once developed until the end of 2016.But in the end Take-Two vetoed the version, citing that the content was too dark and not meeting their expectations.
The protagonists of the second plot are transformed into two - a policewoman and a "subordinate of drug traffickers, as crazy as Trevor in "Give Him 5".This version was developed for 18 months, but unfortunately it was eventually cut off by Take-Two because the plot was relatively dull.
The third plot has a similar style to the second plot, except that "the sad policewoman was replaced by an African-American man who was a soldier who had just been released from prison and fell into the underworld."This version was cancelled in March 2019, and Dan Houser also left the GTA6 development team and resigned.
Foreign media editors believe that the source of this revelation has not been confirmed and many statements are questionable, so don’t take it too seriously. But if it is true, it explains why it took so long for GTA6 to be released.
