In an interview, Shunzo Hosui said that the latest work of the series, "Yumia's Alchemist House", has tried to "actively integrate action-based combat elements and open world systems, which are the current popular trends in the field of console RPGs" to expand the attractiveness of the series.

Although "Yumia's Alchemy Works" has become the fastest-selling work in the history of the series and has received widespread praise from the media, the core players of "Alchemy Works" have mixed reviews - the main reason is that the work has deviated significantly from the traditional JRPG framework and the inherent style of the series.In response, developer Gust obviously hopes to bring a more familiar experience to old players in the new work.

"We have been making turn-based RPGs all the time, and we have noticed that many fans are looking forward to this kind of gameplay," said Shunzo Hosuki. "So we hope to create a console game that is completely different from "Yumia's Alchemist" to continue the experience of "Retro Studio" - this is the birth opportunity of the new work "Red Alchemist and White Guardian ~ Les Leliana's Alchemist~"."

He added that this new "Red Alchemist and White Guardian ~ Les Leliana's Alchemist~" "inherits the creative direction and spiritual core of the 23rd work of the series "Sophie's Alchemist 2" released in 2022."

In addition to the full turn-based battle, "Red Alchemist and White Guardian ~ Les Leliana's Alchemist'" also returns to the classic through the following designs: the six-player team is divided into front and back rows, the props and equipment slots exclusive to each alchemist, the skill tree system, and a randomly generated dungeon.

The town store management system in the retro Alchemist series will also return - this system will directly affect the development of the plot, unlocking areas and characters as the store simulates operations progress.

"Red Alchemist and White Guardian ~ Les Leliana's Alchemist House~" will be available on PC (Steam), PS5 and Switch platforms on September 26.
