Those beloved Mii characters return to Switch 2, but Nintendo also cancels the gender option. When creating a new Mii, the system asks the player to "select a style for your Mii", i.e. choose in a universal male/female model.
Additionally, there is a message below both styles: "In some software, the style you choose for Mii may be reflected as a specific gender".For comparison, the Mii character is still required to be selected when creating it on the first generation Switch.
It should be noted that these Mii images have not seemed to have been redesigned, so their styling is almost exactly the same as those on the Wii, Wii U and the first Switch.
Nintendo's move may be in response to modern society's call for diversity and inclusion, allowing players to express themselves more freely through vague and diversified character settings.
