The developers of CD Projekt Red seem to be devoted to the work of The Witcher 4, so much that they misuse the control scheme of the new game when playing other games.
As part of the 10th anniversary celebration of The Witcher 3, several senior CDPR developers sat together to review the game and play on the live game while sharing in-depth insights. One of the interesting stories happened when plot director Philip Webber fought a giant enemy - he found himself misusing the dodge rolling button, and then started a slightly funny conversation:
"How should I roll correctly? Is it a jump key?" Webber asked.
"It's the A button." reminded Miles Toster, the head of level design.
“When did it change?”
"It's always been A-key."
"No--!"
"real."
"Actually, I just used the control plan of "The Witcher 4"...spoilers."
In fact, "The Witcher 4" has entered the full development stage since November last year. The team has gone beyond the concept design stage and is focusing on building the game world, mechanisms, characters, plots and systems. This means that developers are currently using development kits to practice, and the new control scheme they use is obviously different from "The Witcher 3".
Speaking of "The Witcher 4", although CDPR recently announced a collaboration with "Summer Game Festival", players do not have to over-expect the sequel to be unveiled in this summer event.Studio co-CEO Mishael Novakovsky has recently clearly downplayed the relevant speculation, and also hinted that the team's current focus is the plan of "Cyberpunk 2077: The Final Edition" coming to Nintendo Switch 2 soon.
