The original Japanese dubbing actors of "Like Dragon 0" shared their views on the new plot of the upcoming director's cut.
"Royal 0: Director's Editing Edition" will be launched on the platform on June 5th on the day of Switch 2's first release, including a brand new cutscene of about 26 minutes.The official channel of the developer Rulong Studio released a video, inviting the original Japanese dubbing actors to return to the new plot dubbing.
Kiryu Ima Kiryu's voice actor Takaya Kuroda said that he believes that there were some foreshadowings in the plot of "Like Dragon 0" that were not completely closed, and he and the players in the series are curious about this.Kuroda said that when he received the script for the director's edited version of the plot, he felt that the content was "refreshing" and he believed that players would agree that these plots put an end to some of the foreshadowings.
Mashima Goro's voice actor Norio Kamiki added that the newly added Mashima-related plot makes the character's image more distinct - although it looks "terrible", but is very kind inside.Ueki said that the new plot clearly shows "Mashima cherishes Mi Makumura and how much he wants to protect her."
Finally, Kuase's voice actor Hitoshi Ozawa mentioned that the new plot helps better explain the relationship between Kuase and Kiryu, adding depth to the content that was only briefly mentioned and not deeply expanded in the original game."Kuase's new lines made me feel like 'Oh, so that's how they are'," Ozawa explained.
The director's cut version of "As Dragon 0" is exclusive to Switch 2. In addition to being released simultaneously on the first day, it also includes new cutscenes that have never been released, new English dubbing (the original version only includes Japanese dubbing and English subtitles), and a new "Red Light Raid" mode that supports up to 4 people online. This mode can use up to 60 characters.
Although "Like Dragon 0" is the 6th main work released in the "Like Dragon"/"Dragon among the People" series, its timeline is set earlier than all other games in the series.Therefore, although strictly speaking, the first generation of "Royal" is the starting point for new players to come into contact with the series, some players recommend that new players start with "Royal 0" because it is the beginning of the series timeline.
