Developer Obsidian recently announced that its Pillars of Eternity, which were launched 10 years ago, will continue to receive updates, and the team will launch a major update later this year to bring a turn-based combat mode to the game.
The game recently launched a new update."We have been working hard to dig deep into the code's Magic Book' and adjust the balance between sword and spells - today we are excited to share the results of this effort with a new patch. This update addresses extensive fixes and improvements in visual effects, combat, missions and more. Whether you're traveling through the Eastern Domain for the first time or returning to collect scattered clues, your path should be smoother now."
"Addressers will be able to help us test a new feature later this year: turn-based combat. We are excited to explore this new way to experience the Pillar of Eternity encounter, and your feedback will help shape its future. More details on how to engage will be shared in the near future."
Initially in the crowdfunding stage, "Pillar of Eternity" was hailed as the "spiritual sequel" of "Bader's Gate".Like the original Baldur Gate, the game uses a "real-time pause" combat system.
