Microsoft announced that its AI-driven aid tool Copilot, released through Windows 11, will be added to Xbox consoles and PC games soon.
Copilot debuted in 2024 and will “help players leave time to find new games you might like, and even help you easily get back to games you might have left.”Members of the Xbox Insiders program will test the feature in April and then eventually launch it on a larger scale. The tool was previously shown during the Microsoft Surface and AI launch event held last year.At that time, Microsoft had already shown the use of the tool in Minecraft to help illustrate the materials needed to make items in the game.
On the Xbox blog, Fatima Karder, head of gaming AI, revealed that the tool “is designed to help players in various ways” that players will be able to “always control the tool” and will “decide how and when to interact with Copilot to ensure it enhances, not destroys the gaming experience.”Karder continues: “It’s not just that AI will come out to help you, it’s that AI can come out at the right time. We have to think about the experience we build ourselves, it can’t be invasive.”
