After the completion of the "Lesha's Alchemy Works" series, Gwangrong once again released a new "Alchemy Works" work: "Yumiya's Alchemy Works ~ Reminiscence of Alchemists and the Land of Fantasy Creation~".At this Tokyo Game Show, we had the honor to interview producer Shunzo Hoshii and director Nobuichi Ayahiko, and asked them to answer many detailed questions about "Yumiya's Alchemy Workshop".

Media Reporter: Is this game designed as an open world? Is it intentionally encourage players to explore more?Shunzo Hosuki: Yes, from "Leisha's Alchemy Workshop", we designed an open field, and from the current trend, we are also moving towards the open world. I think this work has a better relationship with the open world, so this form is also adopted. I hope everyone will explore more.
Media Reporter: Does this game have tools like pets, mounts, and other tools that are convenient for players to explore and collect?Shunzo Hosuki: Maybe you can see it in PV, that is, there is a flying pet next to Yumiya, and there will be fairies from the "Alchemy Workshop" series before.As for mounts, this game does not have animal mounts, but there are motorcycles, so you can ride a motorcycle to explore, which will be more convenient.
Media Reporter: I saw in PV that this game can switch characters in battle. Is this intentional action game closer?Nobuyi Anyan: It’s not this idea, but to make the battles of RPG games more strategic.For example, you can switch different skills according to the needs of the battle, and different attributes can have different impacts on the enemy.If the enemy's defense is very high, we can use the skill of breaking defense; if the opponent is attacking at a close range, we can instead pull away and attack with long range... Different strategies corresponding to different skills such as this.
Media Reporter: Based on past experience, more powerful weapons and equipment are usually needed in the middle and late stages of the game, which will also lead to the warehouse storing too much material. Will this game improve the functions of backpack warehouse sorting in terms of system?An Yan Xinyi: There are a lot of materials to be used in this work because of harmony. Although everyone will collect a lot of materials, they are basically used in harmony, so there will be no remaining materials.Also, in the past, things similar to the concept of money might be used in harmony, but in this work, because the protagonist group is all members of the survey team, it seems a bit strange to trade money between the members of the survey team, so they pass a method of material exchange, which means that everyone can use their own materials to exchange different materials with the other party, so that the usage of materials will also increase, so the final result is that there will be no extra materials left.
Media Reporter: This game has changed a lot in terms of the game system. Does this mean that the subsequent works have systematic changes?An Yan Xinyi: I think these changes are necessary, especially on the basis of Lesa's success. When we want to develop a new work, we definitely hope to make a leap in technology. So we have added some elements that were not before to the system, but at the same time, we will also consider everyone's response. Can everyone accept this game system and whether it has received good reviews from everyone.We hope to have different attempts in different works, and now this work has made such an attempt.
Media Reporter: The plot introduction of this work mentioned that alchemy has become a taboo. Does this mean that the plot will become heavy?Shunzo Hosuki: As you said, because of this background setting problem, the plot of this work will become heavier than before.In the previous work, we all know that the "Alchemy Workshop" series always depicts a lot of daily life and shows everyone the concept that daily life is also very important.In this work, more pen and ink will be used to describe more serious and heavy stories, and the hostile characters will also have corresponding backgrounds.What we want to shape is a story that can be popular all over the world.However, the heart-warming and healing plot that everyone is looking forward to or familiar with also exists in this work, so everyone can enjoy both plots at the same time.Overall, the more serious and heavier part is 70%, and the more warm and healing part is 30%.
Media Reporter: So will there be any side plots like more stories about the inner hearts of partners in this work?Shunzo Hosoi: Of course there is, and the stories so far will dig deeper into their background and depict their hearts.As I mentioned earlier, the whole plot is a bit heavier, so the character's side story will be heavier than before.
Media Reporter: The focus of the previous work is on the thighs, while the focus of this work is on the buttocks. Why did you have this idea?Shunzo Hosoi: Hahahaha, this is an interesting question.When creating the previous work, "Leisha" paid more attention to Japanese aesthetics, and designed the role based on the Japanese aesthetics.This work focuses on a broader perspective. Not only Japan, but also South Korea, China, Southeast Asia, etc. have been taken into consideration. This hope is a charming character that has been introduced to the world from an Asian aesthetic perspective.Our starting point and design method are different. Although in terms of results, players may pay more attention to Lesa's thighs, we think that Yumiya also has other cute things, such as her dazed hair and tear moles, which are all very cute. I hope everyone can discover more of her charm.Media Reporter: With this question, I would like to ask, if there is a next work, what parts will be displayed?Shunzo Hoshii: This depends on the trend at that time.
Media Reporter: So how did the production team conduct a survey on popular trends?Shunzo Hosui: I investigated it myself - haha, of course this is a joke.The survey includes our artists, modeling and other developers in terms of graphics, and they have conducted a large number of surveys.These surveys may focus more on social media, and then we will see which role responds better.Although each character has its own advantages, in summary, the more popular characters will have some common parts, so we just hope to absorb the common parts to design.
Media Reporter: The development time of the "Alchemy Workshop" series is always very short, why is it so fast?Is there any secret?Shunzo Hosoi: Hahaha, because we have worked hard in development.I think it is very meaningful to release a work regularly, including meeting the media once a year for communication, and then regularly drawing opinions from players. If we did not publish the game at this frequency, maybe this series would not be today. It is precisely because we have absorbed the strength of the media and players that we can achieve today's achievements.
Media Reporter: Have there been any popular characters in the "Alchemy Worker" series in this work, or are there any Easter eggs that can make fans smile?Shunzo Hosuki: Because this game is a new beginning, other past characters will not appear.
Media Reporter: Will there be any in DLC?Shunzo Hosoi: Not available yet, if the sales volume is very good, I will consider it.
Media Reporter: In the past, "Alchemy Works" were all trilogy works, so is the same in this work?Shunzo Hosoi: Hahaha, I can’t disclose more about this yet.
