Co-producer Neil Druckmann was interviewed by Variety before the second season of The Last Survivor premiered on Max on April 13.When asked if there will be a game called "The Last Survivor 3", his answer was very negative.

He made it clear that fans shouldn't expect more work in the series.The director hinted that "The Last Survivor 2" could become the final work of the series, and Naughty Dog Studio will explore new directions in the future.

"I've been waiting for this question. The only thing I want to say is, don't expect more The Last Survivor. That's probably that."

"The Last Survivor 2" was launched on the PS4 platform in 2020, and in early 2024 it was launched on PS5 in the form of a replica, and will be logged on to Windows PC on April 3.

Interestingly, just a year ago, Neil had said that he had found the idea for the third game, which will revolve around Joel’s brother Tommy.

At the time, Neil said: "I still believe that one day it will be released, and I don't know if it will be a game or a TV series."
