Capcom said Monster Hunter: Wilderness pre-orders performed well, exceeding internal expectations.
At the third quarter of 2024 Investor QA Q&A meeting of Capcom's 2024 fiscal year, someone asked about the pre-order situation of "Monster Hunter: Wilderness".Capcom replied: "While we are inconvenient to disclose pre-order numbers, pre-orders have made great progress compared to our internal plans."
In addition, Capcom also stated that it plans to sell 13 million new sets before the end of fiscal year 2024 (from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025).However, according to the financial report, Capcom currently (in the first three quarters), only sold 1.911 million new works, accounting for 14.7%, so this sales target fell on the shoulders of "Monster Hunter: Wilderness".
This means Capcom needs to sell 11.089,000 new sets by March 31, 2025 to meet sales expectations, offsetting the decline in net income and operating profits between April and December 2024.
Cumulative sales data of the "Monster Hunter" series of works:
Monster Hunter: World: 28.12 million sets
Monster Hunter World: Ice Field: 14.93 million sets
Monster Hunter: Rise: 16.79 million sets
"Rise of Monster Hunter: Dawn": 9.48 million sets
