Resident Evil 5 focuses on cooperative action games rather than the traditional survival horror elements of the series. The game was originally released in 2009 and is available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms. It was launched on PS4 and Xbox One in 2016, and it was ported to the Switch in 2019.

In the past six years, Capcom has completely remakes of "Resident Evil 2", "Resident Evil 3" and "Resident Evil 4", and in 2023 the company said it plans to launch more remakes.
Recently, Capcom announced that the multiplayer game "Resident Evil Re:Verse" will be suspended on June 29 and will be removed from the shelves from March 3.
