Stray Kite Studios, co-founded by Paul Hellquist, formerly chief designer of "Bioshock", recently announced a new fantasy-themed real-time tactics Roguelite game "Wartorn", which is currently available on the Steam platform.
In this Rogue-lite adventure traveling through a world torn apart by war, players need to harness various elements in intense real-time battles while gathering and upgrading a group of fantasy creatures.
"Soldiers and Killers" currently only supports English, and the game plans to launch an early-stage version on the Steam platform in spring 2025.
Steam Store Page: Introduction to the game of "Soldiers and Sorry":
Wartorn is a single, squad-style, light roguelike battle game where players will play the role of sisters Yara and Elani who are forced to flee their homes, and must travel through the war-torn Talaur Islands and arrive at the safety of the ancestral fortress Beynun.
System Elements System
Wartorn uses a systematic, emerging gaming system that uses elements such as fire, water, tar, plants and lightning.Strategically select your squad to master elements and environments against hordes of enemies.Water can extinguish fires, tar can enhance fires, and in humid environments, the current will crackle in the queue, and water can heal the plant units. And these are just the tip of the iceberg!
Team combat
As you travel around the world, recruit fantasy creature squads including goblins, elves, demons, tree demons (and so on!) to form your caravan. Each squad adds new strategic options to your caravan through different characteristics and unique abilities.Mix and match the squads you bring into battle to truly master a battle.Proficient use of battlefield positioning, squad combinations and skills can win, but be careful, failure will lower your morale and the game is over if your caravan loses hope.
Strategic replay
The game integrates strategic and roguelite elements, providing strong replayability. Due to the novel gameplay, dynamic and flexible squad management, and unpredictable narrative events can save troubled teams and kill them.So every run feels refreshing.
